The Rules

The game of Mafia is made up of two groups. The Killers(Mafia) and the others(Townies)

The Mafia know for sure who each other are. A Townie will not who anyone else is for sure. They will have to take a leap of faith to get anywhere.

Basically its a game of Informed Minority vs Uninformed Majority.

The Killers win when all others are dead. The Townies win when all the Killers are dead.



The game is split up into two phases.

The Day Phase and the Night Phase.

During the Day Phase everyone(no matter what role you may have) can vote to have somebody lynched. Everyone has 1 vote to use. This may be changed as many times as you like before the deadline. For someone to be lynched there MUST be a majority voting against them. You may also choose to No Lynch if you desire. If no majority can be reached before the end of Day Phase, then noone will be lynched. At the end of Day Phase, the Night Phase begins.

During the Night Phase all those with special roles(To be explained in next section) can choose to use them to action whatever their role does (e.g. The Mafia will choose someone to kill, the Cop chooses someone to investigate etc). The Night Phase will generally be shorter than the Day Phase to keep gameplay flowing.

This rotation of Day and Night Phase continues until a either the Mafia or the Townies has won the game through their respective roles.
(E.g. the Mafia wins when everyone else is dead. The Townies win when all mafia are dead)

Some of the roles included this time around are :

Mafia (not saying how many. You will have to find out): They shoot one person a night (if they can agree amongst themselves who to kill). Wins when noone else is alive. Godfather shows as innocent when Cop investigates them.

Cop: Can invesigate one person a night to see if they are Guilty or Innocent.

Vigilante: Has a limited amount of bullets which can use to kill someone..

Mayor: Can choose to use an extra vote once throughout the game(Counting as two for that day. The second vote is a secret vote) and also spare one person from being lynched once.

Normal Townie: This is just a normal townie. They have nothing special. They can vote during daytime like anyone else. During Night Phase they have nothing to do.




And a few others that you will discover as you play. I will not be telling you all the roles involved. So dont ask


When someone dies, their role is revealed.

IMPORTANT: You must not show anything i send you as proof of your role to someone else. Nor can you show them your secret forum (if you have one) as proof either. The ONLY way you can let someone know who you are is by telling them. You can communicate through private messages on the forums or emails or verbally if you wish. For them to believe you they will have to trust you. NO PROOF IS ALLOWED. I hope i do not see anyone who is not Mafia "accidentally" letting others see their screen. This could cause divine intervention. Dont make God angry

The mistrust is the whole point of the game. To rely on pure trust. You are not meant to know for certain someone is who they say they are. It is more fun if you do not cheat!

Lying, Deceit, Misdirection are all a major part of this game. If you have people voting against you, it is in your best interest to try and shift the blame elsewhere any way you can(regardless of whether you are Mafia or not)

You can claim publicly to be someone you arent if you wish to throw off would be lynchers(e.g. a Mafia claiming to be a normal Townie. Not everyone in the game will have a special role.). You can even publicly tell people who you really are if you think this will be beneficial(although, for example, telling people publicly you are the Cop might not be such a good idea as the Mafia will probably kill you off in the next night phase since you are the only one who can discover who they are On the other hand you could also use that as bait!). Or you could also claim to be just a normal townie. Many opportunites if you can think outside the square.


Final note: Please please please please dont cheat. It will seriously ruin the experience
